The Economy Accountancy System

I’ve been managing businesses - either my own or other people’s - since 1976. It is important to understand about how a business works financially, so I learned how to do the accounting. I have been using Sage since 1984, and QuickBooks since 1996.

Mostly I have been working in the motor trade, and in the nineties I was importing and exporting automotive components. I sold out my shareholding in 2000, and started a small bookkeeping business here in Poole. In 2005 the business was incorporated, so I am now trading as Ledger Domain Ltd.

Ledger Domain today offers a full accountancy package at extremely economic rates. This is because I do all the bookkeeping, and once the accounts are to trial balance I pass them over to one of several accountants with whom I work. My rates start at £17 an hour, even less if I work on client’s premises, and the accountants I use charge from £90 depending on how large or complex the company is.

This way all the donkey work is done very cheaply, and to a very high standard, then putting it into statutory form for submission to HMRC and Companies House is not time-consuming, hence keeping costs to a minimum.
